LINKSPLIT HELP

Link rotators & traffic splits

Route one short URL to multiple destinations using relative weights.

Create a rotator

  1. Select Create new → Link rotator.
  2. Enter your destination URLs. Use + Add a destination for more pages, within your plan’s allowance.
  3. Keep equal weights for an even split, or edit the weights to set your own ratio.
  4. Choose the domain and URL name, then select Save link.

A rotator chooses one destination for each redirect. It can distribute campaign traffic between landing pages, offers or alternative sites.

Understand weights

Each weight can range from 0 to 1,000, with up to two decimal places. Weights are relative and do not need to add up to 100. At least one destination must have a positive weight.

Examples of two-destination splits
WeightsConfigured share
50 and 5050% / 50%
80 and 2080% / 20%
2 and 1About 66.7% / 33.3%
100 and 0100% / 0%; the second destination is disabled

Configured share is a destination’s weight divided by the total weight. With the automatic equal split, adding or removing destinations recalculates equal weights. Once you customize a weight, existing weights stay unchanged and new destinations start with the average weight. Review the full split after editing.

Compare configured and actual traffic

Select Analytics and review the Destinations table. Configured split uses the current weights; actual split uses tracked clicks in your selected date range. Earlier traffic may have used different weights.

Traffic is distributed across requests, rather than assigning a visitor permanently to a destination. Repeat visits can go to different pages. Small samples, changes to weights and tracking limits can produce an actual split that differs from the configured ratio. Use sufficient traffic and measure conversions on your destination pages when comparing outcomes.

Adjust a live campaign

Use Edit to update URLs or weights. Set a destination’s weight to 0 to stop sending it traffic while leaving it in the list. Keep the same short-link address to continue using the URL already in your campaign.

Use UTM parameters on destinations to identify campaign traffic, and expiration to end a limited campaign.
